If you are wondering m, the place is named accurately. I got the al pastor torta and it was a serious sandwich. Great road trip snack, I can munch on that thing for 6 hours and it still tastes great no microwave needed.
Best tortas I have ever had in SLC. Usually the bread goes soggy quickly but the bread here can stand up and it was really good. And the size of this sandwich was HUGE! I could only eat haft and had to share it. Totally worth the money. And soo many options!! I had the el pastor but they all look good, not sure you can get it wrong. Meat was perfectly season and the only thing I had wished was the pineapple to be grilled in chucks and not tidbits. Also had the horchata but it wasn't as good...just okay. Chicken tacos were also delicious and very filling.
I love their tortas, and they are HUGE, you can easily split one with someone else and be satisfied. One time they got our Togo order completely wrong though.. but I will always go back for the venezolano, it has pork leg, pineapple, and cheese, add some salsa and you are in heaven!
This is the most fitting name for a restaurant I have ever seen. Halfway through the meal my wife and I were both completely stuffed and couldn't believe how much food we had already ate and how much more we had in front of us...if only we had respected the name while ordering. We went with a steak/chorizo torta, and the big taco plate that has one of each taco type (6 total). The torta was delicious. The bread was soft, and just the right bread/filling ratio. The Oaxaca cheese was really good. They've got a couple different salsas that you can drizzle on your food, all of which were excellent. The tacos were all pretty good, but the chorizo, asada, and pastor were my favorite. The menu also has all the "different" kinds of tacos you can find at a real Mexican place...think snout, skin, stomach, all the things that we don't usually eat but that are actually fine. The portions are really, really big. As mentioned above, halfway through the meal we knew there was no way we could finish it. Next time I think we'll split a taco plate or a torta, but definitely not both. The menu was a little annoying. It was slowly cycling through pictures of the food with the name next to it, but I didn't see just a normal, master menu to look at. The torta I ordered had a long name, so I had to watch it cycle through again to get the name down. The cashier took our order in Spanish, which is always fun, but it also looked like they spoke English to the next guy that came in if you're worried about that. Big Torta Big Tacos has quickly moved up the list of places I'll eat again.
Never disappointed at this location. The tortas and to as are both huge, very filling and very well made. This is my go to spot when I don't know what to eat because I can never go wrong here. Definitely recommend trying them out if you are in the mood for something authentic
